The Nebraska Thespians Society has honored Lincoln Public Schools Curriculum Specialist for Secondary English and Language Arts Mindy Murphy with its 2020-21 Administrator\u2019s Award. The Nebraska Thespians Society is a chapter of the Educational Theatre Association. As an educational honor society, the Nebraska Thespians Society is dedicated to encouraging and improving the skills of theatre students throughout Nebraska. Murphy was honored in January during the Nebraska Thespian Festival.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Nebraska Thespians Society has honored Lincoln Public Schools Curriculum Specialist for Secondary English and Language Arts Mindy Murphy with its 2020-21 Administrator\u2019s Award.<\/p>

Here\u2019s what Lincoln Southwest High School Director of Theatre Bob Hinrichs said about Murphy in his nomination letter for this award:<\/p>

\u201cEvery teacher \u2013 every theatre teacher \u2013 dreams of working with a district administrator like Dr. Murphy…Because of the work, dedication and passion of this individual, the theatre arts throughout Lincoln Public Schools are thriving\u2026I wholeheartedly nominate her for this award.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>

And here\u2019s what LPS Director of Curriculum and Instruction Takako Olson said about Murphy:<\/p>

\u201cDr. Murphy has been a vital part of the Curriculum and Instruction Department. Her collaborative, solution-oriented approach always supports our teachers as they work with our students. I also know that students and their learning are always at the center of her work. She is well-deserving of this honor.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

That the Lincoln Board of Education adopt the following resolution:<\/p>

WHEREAS, the Nebraska Thespians Society honored Lincoln Public Schools Curriculum Specialist for Secondary English and Language Arts Mindy Murphy with its 2020-21 Administrator\u2019s Award; and<\/p>

WHEREAS, Mindy Murphy has proven to be a strong advocate for theatre arts at Lincoln Public Schools; and<\/p>

WHEREAS, Mindy Murphy understands the importance of theatre arts in a student\u2019s well-rounded educational experience; and<\/p>

WHEREAS, Mindy Murphy always makes time to listen to the needs and concerns of theatre teachers at Lincoln Public Schools; and<\/p>

WHEREAS, Mindy Murphy has played a key role in establishing the thriving theatre arts programs at Lincoln Public Schools;<\/p>

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Lincoln Board of Education
