The organization annually recognizes outstanding Nebraska educators and supporters of world language education at its fall conference.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-42822ce elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"42822ce\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Explanation<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9a27eae elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9a27eae\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Lincoln High School Spanish teacher Brenda Lopez Adame began teaching at Lincoln Public Schools in 2018. Lopez Adame was awarded the 2025 Outstanding Language Teacher of the Year by the Nebraska Languages Association at their fall conference.<\/p><p>Lopez Adame had several nominations from colleagues and students who praised her passion and dedication, noting a deep connection with students and their families that was above and beyond expectations from a classroom teacher.<\/p><p>NEBLA President Terri Wright said:<\/p><p><em>\u201cBrenda\u2019s creative projects, enthusiastic approach in the classroom and her collaboration with other teachers make her a role model for world language teacher colleagues and her students. Her work with heritage language learners \u2013 which included her work with them in the classroom and her creation of a heritage Spanish speakers club \u2013 was highlighted and praised repeatedly.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4cef202 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4cef202\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Proposal<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-46e7d42 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"46e7d42\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>That the Lincoln Board of Education adopt the following resolution:<\/p><p>WHEREAS, Brenda Lopez Adame, Lincoln High School Spanish teacher has been named the 2025 Outstanding Language Teacher of the Year by the Nebraska Languages Association; and<\/p><p>WHEREAS, Brenda Lopez Adame consistently and enthusiastically displays a passion for teaching Spanish; and<\/p><p>WHEREAS, Brenda Lopez Adame creates engaging lessons and opportunities that encourage students \u2013 both native speakers and those new to the language \u2013 to explore and embrace the Spanish language; and<\/p><p>WHEREAS, Brenda Lopez Adame is valued, respected and admired among her colleagues, not only at her school, but also across Lincoln Public Schools and the state of Nebraska;<\/p><p>NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Lincoln Board of Education<br \/>does hereby congratulate Brenda Lopez Adame for being named the 2025 Outstanding Language Teacher of the Year by the Nebraska Languages Association.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Background Lincoln High School Spanish teacher Brenda Lopez Adame was honored as the 2025 Outstanding Language Teacher of the Year by the Nebraska Languages Association (NEBLA).The Nebraska Languages Association is a professional organization dedicated to the support and promotion of the teaching of languages in the state of Nebraska.
