The Nebraska Art Teachers Association named Sarah Gabelhouse the 2024 Elementary Art Educator of the Year. The award honors educators who have made additional outstanding contributions in art education beyond the classroom, including school, district, community, state and\/or national levels. Sarah taught at Arnold Elementary School for three years prior to starting at Standing Bear High School in the fall of 2024.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Art educator Sarah Gabelhouse was named the 2024 Elementary Art Educator of the Year by the Nebraska Art Teachers Association during their fall conference in October. Sarah taught at Arnold Elementary for three years prior to moving to Standing Bear High School in the fall of 2024.\u00a0<\/p>

Sarah was nominated for not only the work she does in the classroom, but also for her efforts in sharing instructional ideas and best practices to her colleagues in Lincoln and across the state.\u00a0<\/p>

LPS Curriculum Specialist for Visual Art Lorinda Rice writes :<\/p>

\u201cSarah has been doing some amazing things with inquiry-based learning and the creative process. She\u2019s one of our newer teachers who is continuing on with learning and trying to find new ways to engage today\u2019s students in things that are meaningful to them in their artmaking.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

That the Lincoln Board of Education adopt the following resolution:  <\/p>\n

WHEREAS, Sarah Gabelhouse is an art educator at Lincoln Public Schools and was recently awarded 2024 Elementary Art Educator of the Year by the Nebraska Art Teachers Association; and <\/p>\n

WHEREAS, Sarah Gabelhouse inspires creativity and facilitates growth in her students by helping them explore their own ideas and sharing their understanding through art; and <\/p>\n

WHEREAS, Sarah Gabelhouse is committed to inquiry-based learning and the creative process; and <\/p>\n

WHEREAS, Sarah Gabelhouse is valued, respected and admired among her colleagues, not only at Lincoln Public Schools, but also across the state of Nebraska; <\/p>\n
