The Nebraska School Counselor Association named Marilynn Peaslee from Lincoln Northeast High School the 2021 Nebraska School Counselor of the Year.<\/p>

Her colleague Malinda Jean Baptiste had this to say about Peaslee in her nomination letter:<\/p>

\u201cMarilynn is the embodiment of a school counselor. She is always willing to set aside a task at hand to work with a student, always putting people before paper. Marilynn strives to know each of her students well and to find ways to push each one to achieve at their highest potential. I also appreciate how she encourages the members of her team. She is the encouraging word on a hard day, an engaged listener as you process a situation, a knowledgeable resource on ideas of things to try with a student, and a huge advocate of the role of school counselor as both a proactive educator and a reactive support for students.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

That the Lincoln Board of Education adopt the following resolution:<\/p>

WHEREAS, the Nebraska School Counselor Association named Marilynn Peaslee from Lincoln Northeast High School the 2021 Nebraska School Counselor of the Year; and<\/p>

WHEREAS, Marilynn Peaslee is always willing to put aside her task at hand to help a student; and<\/p>

WHEREAS, Marilynn Peaslee is a compassionate and admired colleague among her team members at Northeast High School; and<\/p>

WHEREAS, Marilynn Peaslee has been a leader in establishing the Northeast High School counseling center as a positive resource for students, staff and families; and<\/p>

WHEREAS, Marilynn Peaslee is a strong advocate for using data to make important decisions at Northeast High School;<\/p>
