What is your profession?
<\/strong>As a software engineer, I have worked with local businesses in the healthcare, agriculture, and retail industries. The things I enjoy most about working in information technology are the opportunities to create innovative solutions within a dedicated, talented team. Like education, the software industry is constantly improving and evolving.<\/p>

How would you describe yourself?
<\/strong>I am a father of five amazing children and enjoy spending time with my family. I’m originally from a small town in northeast Nebraska and love Lincoln’s small-town feel. I enjoy learning, problem solving, and service.<\/p>

What school memory from when you were a student still impacts you today?
<\/strong>My mother was my high school English teacher and my father served on the school board. The conversations around our dinner table were frequently about education and community. My parents definitely inspired me to run for school board, and I continue to learn from their example.<\/p>

What was your favorite class\/subject in school and why?
<\/strong>My favorite class in school was science. I enjoyed learning about the physical world and the way it works.<\/p>

What are the biggest challenges facing our schools today?
<\/strong>The biggest challenges facing our schools are also our biggest opportunities. Our district is growing in enrollment, poverty, and diversity. Supporting all students with a safe learning environment, rigorous curriculum, and opportunities for growth are our highest priorities.<\/p>

What do you hope for the children in our community?
<\/strong>My hope is that the children in our community are happy, healthy, safe, and excited about learning. I want all of our students to be prepared to be successful adults, ready for college, careers, and all that awaits them in life.<\/p>

What legacy do you hope to leave at LPS when your service on the board is finished?
