As long as a service dog has an identifiable vest or tag, they are allowed in\/on\/at LPS venues\/LPS contracted venues. If the dog is for emotional support, per district policy, they are not allowed in\/on\/at LPS athletic and activity functions.<\/p><p>In the end, as long as a service dog has a visible SERVICE DOG vest or SERVICE DOG tag stating that they are a service dog, they will be allowed at LPS athletic and activity functions. Per LPS legal, as a district, we are only allowed to ask for documentation regarding service dogs if the service dog does not have an identifiable vest\/identifiable tag.<\/p><p>Finally, if the service dog is out of control, not house broken or is a direct threat (aggressive, attacking, barking, etc..) to the health and safety of others, the service dog will need to leave LPS property\/LPS contracted property.<\/p><p>In addition to the policies attached above, service dogs may also perform the following&#8230;<\/p><ul><li>Protection: Providing nonviolent protection or rescue work<\/li><li>Pulling: Pulling a wheelchair<\/li><li>Physical Support: Providing physical support and assistance with balance and stability to individuals with mobility issues.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-b9fd571\" data-id=\"b9fd571\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4a25bd5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"4a25bd5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"379\" height=\"510\" src=\"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/athletics\/files\/2023\/12\/service-dog.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-image-40571\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/home.lps.org\/athletics\/files\/2023\/12\/service-dog.jpg 379w, https:\/\/home.lps.org\/athletics\/files\/2023\/12\/service-dog-223x300.jpg 223w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 379px) 100vw, 379px\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Service Dogs at LPS Athletic Events Service dogs (not &#8220;emotional support dogs&#8221; or &#8220;emotional support animals&#8221;) for those individuals with disabilities should be identified by their signature SERVICE DOG vest that states they are in fact a service dog (there are a number of identifiable service dog vests).
