Teacher Recognition/Awards

Marissa Wanamaker was named 2017 Nebraska German Teacher of the Year by the Nebraska International Language Association (NILA).  Marissa teaches German at Lincoln High School.  Frau Wanamaker is adored by her students and makes her classes engaging and enjoyable.  The German program at Lincoln High is thriving due to the effort and dedication of Marissa.

Lisa Maupin was named 2017 Nebraska French Teacher of the Year by the Nebraska International Language Association (NILA).  Lisa teaches French at Lincoln East and is a dedicated teacher and colleague.  Lisa actively engages her students in the language.  She has also taken students to France on the LPS Study abroad trip.  Congratulations, Lisa!

Cara Heminger was named 2016 Nebraska French Teacher of the Year by the Nebraska International Language Association (NILA).  Cara teaches French at Lincoln Northstar and is a dedicated teacher and colleague.  Cara is always involved in new professional development in order to best serve her students.  Congratulations, Cara!

 

Melinda Johnson was recognized for her dedication to her students.  She was nominated by her students for the 2017 Outstanding Teacher Award at The Career Academy.  Her students at TCA wanted to let her know how much they appreciate her as a Spanish teacher at Lincoln Northeast High School.  Congratulations, Melinda!
