This is how to transfer access to a non-personal LPS wordpress site from one LPS staff member to another. Non-personal sites are those that don’t contain a username in the address. For example, while you can transfer access for a site like http://wp.lps.org/chessclub, you should not transfer access for a site like http://wp.lps.org/jdoe.
Transferring ownership of a non-personal blog on WP.LPS.ORG
Step One: Ensure the person you are giving access to already has a wordpress account
The easiest way to do this is to ask. If they aren’t sure, the second easiest is to try their personal site URL. A person with the LPS username "jdoe" should have a site at http://wp.lps.org/jdoe. If http://wp.lps.org/jdoe does not exist, you can feel confident that they do not have a site on wp.lps.org.
IF THEY HAVE A SITE, you can skip to Step Two
IF THEY DON’T HAVE A SITE, please have them establish one by going to the LPS front page and entering keyword "wplogin". They will need to login with their personal login and password and their site will be established. They can logout or simply close their browser at this point.
Step Two: Select "Add User" from Dashboard
While logged in to the site you wish to transfer to someone else, select "Add User" from the Users menu
Step Three: Enter Username and Select Role
Just type in the username of the person you wish to transfer the site to and provide them "administrator" access
Step Four: Check and Remove Self
The person you are transferring access to should now be able to login to your site. You can test this by having them go to the address of your site and adding "/wp-admin" to the end of the address. For example, you would login to http://wp.lps.org/chessclub at http://wp.lps.org/chessclub/wp-admin
Once logged in, they can visit "All Users" under "Users" and if you are ready — they can delete you from the site by moving their mouse over your name and selecting "Remove"
The site is now transferred!
