18th Annual Cans4Books Recycling Drive Results

The results are in for the 18th annual Cans4Books recycling drive. Thank you to all of the students, staff, friends and neighbors that participated. Over $1,000 of books will be added to our school library bookshelves, and over 81,500 cans were recycled! Congratulations to our top schools and prize winners:

1st Place – Huntington Elementary
707 pounds of cans recycled, $235 donated
Receives additional $75 prize

2nd Place – Lakeview Elementary
423 pounds of cans recycled, $180 donated
Receives additional $50 prize

3rd Place – Sheridan Elementary
172 pounds of cans recycled, $65 donated
Receives additional $25 prize

The Cans4Books program has reached over $41,600 donated to school libraries for the purchase of books since 2001. Over 3.1 million aluminum cans have also been recycled over the lifetime of the program.
