Come spend 3.5 hours with Dr. Garreth Zalud, from the University of South Dakota, as he shares his wisdom and understandings of Reading Recovery.
1.75 Flex: A Review of the Observation Survey
Reading Recovery teachers will review processes, procedures, and conceptual understandings of the Observation Survey. This will ensure that the standardized Observation Survey will remain valid and reliable. Results from the assessment are used for Predictions of Progress which will be reviewed/introduced, and will be useful for future teaching.
1.75 Flex: Brain Engineering
Reading Recovery teachers are brain engineers. Participants at this session will learn how the brain works and utilize this knowledge to improve teaching and student learning.
1.75 Flex: Purposeful Recording vs. Paperwork
None of us want extra paperwork. Learn how to make your records purposeful so they can be used for analysis and planning.
1.75 Flex: Processing Strategies
We will continue to discuss our conceptual understandings of how to design our Reading Recovery lessons and instruction to improve our teaching and student learning.

Participants will learn about and discuss transitions within the Reading Recovery lesson, within the series of lessons, and to the classroom.
