Student/Parent Program

The Student-Parent Program is funded by multiple federal grants and community agencies. The program offers an opportunity for pregnant students and young parents to continue their education and graduate. The program services are delivered by student-parent teams in every middle level and secondary building. At North Star, Lincoln High, Bryan Community, and Northeast High, childcare services available on-site.

PROGRAM AND SERVICES
The program goals for student-parents include the following:

  • stay in school and graduate
  • balance the challenges for parenting, personal development and school
  • establish good health practices for themselves and their children
  • develop career and life plans
  • learn and use quality parenting skills

EXPECTATIONS FOR TEACHERS
Respective student-parent teams [counselor, school nurse, family and consumer science teacher, administration] at individual buildings may be consulted to support both teachers and students in striving for success.
