Grants Administration

The Grants Administration Team within Federal Programs is pleased to provide support to teachers and administrators throughout the district in securing and managing grants.  It is important to work with this team, to adhere to LPS policies and regulations, and because such interaction provides a check and balance system to ensure that projects adhere to district and School Board mission and priorities.  School Board approval is required before grants over $5,000 are submitted and must go through the Federal Programs Department so we may assist with this process.

There are two aspects to this support—grant development (before submitting a proposal) and grant administration (after receiving an award).  Both include several components that can be provided by the Federal Programs Department depending on the time, skill, and needs of a teacher or administrator.

The first step is to complete the Grant Proposal Concept Paper. Once completed, send it to Rhonda Meyer (rmeyer@lps.org). She will help the grant team become oriented with the potential scope of the project and the necessary timeline to submission.  Once reviewed, a member of our team will contact you to coordinate our assistance.

The primary goal of the Grants Administration Team is to enhance the overall quality and competitiveness of external grant proposals submitted by LPS teachers and administrators.
