Google Docs

Google Docs is is an easy-to-use online word processor that enables teachers and their students to create and share instantly and securely. New documents can be created from scratch or existing documents can be uploaded.

Like all tools found in the Google Workspace, it allows for easy sharing between staff and students, and saves all work within Google Drive by default, reducing the amount of instructional time used on document management tasks.

Using the Camera in Google Docs

Occasionally, Google rolls out updates which makes digital life a little easier for users. We will spotlight some of those features on this page as they’re released.

Inserting an Image from Webcam
To insert a webcam image inside a Google Doc, click Insert > Image > select Camera. If this is the first time using this feature, it’s likely a dialogue box will appear and ask you to allow Google Docs to use your camera. To use this feature, you must select Allow. Once allowed, the user will click the camera button and click Insert to place the image inside the document.
